Around the Jedox World

Welcome to the Astute Dimension Jedox Newsletter for February 2024. Each month we share key developments in the Jedox® Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platform ecosystem. Our aim is to keep business leaders and finance professionals up-to-date on events, tech updates (including AI and planning innovations), ecosystem growth, and media highlights. We use simple, clear language to make it easy to scan and digest. Let’s dive in!

Finance Leaders’ Roundtable in Asia:

Jedox recently hosted a CFO roundtable in Singapore, bringing together finance leaders to discuss 2024 priorities and the “autonomous” future of finance linkedin.com. Attendees explored how the role of Finance is evolving with technology and strategy, sharing insights on aligning finance processes with enterprise goals. This emphasis on “autonomous finance” – using AI and automation to create a self-driving finance function – is a recurring theme globally.
Jedox Elevate Events – Global Roadshow:
Jedox is connecting with its community worldwide through Jedox Elevate roadshow events. In the coming months, events are scheduled in major cities to share best practices in AI-enhanced planning and performance management. For example, Jedox Elevate will stop in London (May 9, 2024) and in Melbourne (May 28) and Sydney (May 30) linkedin.com, featuring industry experts on hyper-automation in Finance and live demos of “Performance Management for Autonomous Finance.” These events offer a great opportunity for CFOs and FP&A teams to learn from peers and see Jedox innovations first-hand.

Platform Tech Update

AI Integration & Smarter Planning:

Jedox continues to weave AI into its platform to make planning more intelligent and user-friendly. Last year Jedox introduced an integration of OpenAI’s ChatGPT into its planning environment jedox.com, allowing users to interact with data using natural language. Finance teams can ask the built-in chatbot for insights or explanations right alongside their live report sjedox.com.
This generative AI capability augments human analysis – for example, you can have ChatGPT auto-generate a commentary on variance analysis or provide qualitative context to a dashboard, all within Jedox jedox.com. The Jedox CTO, Vladislav Maličević, emphasizes that “the true potential lies in the AI–human partnership,” reflecting Jedox’s philosophy that AI should assist (not replace) finance professionals by speeding up analysis and surfacing insights jedox.com.
(In simple terms, think of “JedoxAI” as your smart co-pilot for planning.)

Focus on Autonomous Finance:

Jedox’s product roadmap is heavily focused on leveraging AI and automation to enable what they call “autonomous finance.” In practical terms, this means features that can automatically create a digital twin of your business (linking operational and financial data in real-time) and suggest insights or actions. Jedox’s Chief Product Officer notes that the company continues to invest in R&D to bring more practical AI applications to the office of finance jedox.com – for example, using AI to generate scenario analyses or to automatically highlight anomalies in plans.
We’re already seeing early steps of this: natural-language Q&A (you ask Jedox in plain English about a KPI and get an answer with analysis) and AI-generated summaries of plans are on the horizon jedox.com.
For finance teams, these advances promise faster decision-making and less time spent on manual data crunching.

Across the Jedox Ecosystem

Our Expanding Community:

Jedox continues to win the trust of major organisations seeking to modernise their planning. The company closed 2023 with record revenue and a surge of new customers on six continents jedox.com. Some notable names that joined the Jedox user community recently include:

o Tony’s Chocolonely – the ethical chocolate manufacturer – selected Jedox to support its mission-driven growth, using Jedox to unify sales, supply chain, and finance plans jedox.com. (Jedox’s flexibility and Excel-friendly interface were key in winning over the Tony’s team, who needed a solution as fun and dynamic as their brand.)

o Schaeffler (automotive manufacturing), Henkell & Freixenet (beverages), C&A (retail), and many others also adopted Jedox in the past year jedox.com. Partnerships thriving in many sectors, showing Jedox’s adaptability from high-tech to consumer goods. Each new customer is leveraging Jedox to replace spreadsheet chaos with a single, reliable platform for budgeting, forecasting, and what-if analysis.

What the Press is Saying

Jedox’s strides in planning and AI have caught the attention of industry analysts and media worldwide. Here are some highlights of how Jedox is being recognised in the press (with links to original sources for your reference):

Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant:

In late 2023, Gartner, Inc. positioned Jedox as a Leader in the 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Financial Planning Software jedox.com. This prestigious recognition (based on Gartner’s independent analysis of vendors’ vision and execution) affirms Jedox’s status among the top EPM solutions globally. It’s worth noting Gartner highlighted Jedox’s strengths in providing a “digital twin” of the business by connecting real-time operational and financial data jedox.com.
(For our readers, this means Gartner sees Jedox as a forward-thinking choice for integrated planning – a nice validation when you’re considering EPM tools.)

AI and the Finance Workforce – Thought Leadership:

CPA Now, the Pennsylvania CPA Journal’s blog, featured an article by Jedox CTO Vladislav Maličević titled “Accounting in the Age of AI.”
In this piece, Maličević explores how AI is reshaping the skills and roles in finance departments jedox.com. He discusses the new demands on incoming and existing finance professionals as AI takes over rote tasks and augments analytical work.

The key takeaway is that while AI is here to stay, finance teams must adapt by embracing new technology and focusing on strategic, value-add activities (since the number-crunching can increasingly be automated).
It’s an insightful read for any CFO contemplating how to upskill their team for an AI-driven future – and it underscores Jedox’s thought leadership in bridging finance and tech.

Media Coverage on Planning & AI:

Independent industry publications have also spotlighted trends that align with Jedox’s mission:

o Real-Time Insights (RTInsights.com) published “Digital Transformation: How AI Can Help CFOs,” emphasising that successful finance transformation requires AI and ML to handle the data deluge and generate real-time insights jedox.com. This mirrors Jedox’s approach of using AI to power faster forecasting and scenario modelling.

o CEOWorld Magazine examined “The Competitive Advantage of Creating a Data-Driven Culture,” noting that companies drowning in data need to unify and analyze it effectively to stay ahead jedox.com. The article echoes the importance of integrated planning tools (like Jedox) in turning data into decisions and fostering a culture of analytics in organisations.

o Retail Tech Insights ran an interview with Jedox’s Chief Product Officer, Dr. Rolf Gegenmantel, about optimising marketing and sales operations through better planning jedox.com. It’s a great example of how planning software is not just for Finance – it’s breaking down silos between departments (marketing, sales, HR, etc.), which is the essence of xP&A.
