Platform Tech Update

Latest Jedox Platform News (June 2025):

Jedox continues to evolve its platform, focusing on usability, AI, and extended planning capabilities. In June, several technical updates and announcements stood out:

Generative AI as a “Digital Business Partner”:

Jedox has integrated JedoxAI (its Generative AI assistant) into the planning platform. This allows users to ask natural-language questions about KPIs and get instant analysis and insights. JedoxAI can automatically perform multi-dimensional analysis and generate dynamic tabular reports (“Dynatables”) from a simple query jedox.com.

In practice, this means planners can chat with Jedox to refine forecasts or get explanations, making planning more interactive. Importantly, Jedox built this GenAI integration with security in mind – any sensitive data analysed by the AI stays within a dedicated Microsoft Azure environment for privacy jedox.com.
In short, AI is no longer just a buzzword in Jedox; it’s built-in, practical, and designed to accelerate decision-making while maintaining data governance.

xP&A Explained (Extended Planning & Analysis):

You might hear Jedox and analysts talk about “xP&A,” which expands traditional FP&A beyond Finance. xP&A (extended planning & analysis) means connecting financial plans with operational plans across departments – sales, HR, marketing, etc. – for a unified, company-wide planning approach jedox.com. In plain terms, it breaks down silos so that when a decision is made in one area (say, a sales forecast), all other plans update consistently.
Jedox’s platform is often cited as an xP&A enabler because it allows modelling any scenario and integrating data from any source into one model. This ensures holistic insight – fewer surprises and better alignment between finance and operations. (For example, inventory, workforce, and sales plans can all link to the financial plan, giving CFOs a 360° view.)

New Features & User Experience:

Jedox released several user-friendly enhancements around this time. One notable addition is Waterfall Charts in Jedox dashboards, providing a clear visual breakdown of how values build or change from one period to the next knowledgebase.jedox.com.
This helps finance teams explain the components of, say, a profitability changes or cash flow movement at a glance. Users can drag-and-drop these native charts and even customise colours for positive/negative contributions knowledgebase.jedox.com.

Other updates include improvements to the Excel Add-in (supporting Excel 365 on web/Mac with drill-through capabilities) and new themes & branding options for a consistent look. Jedox’s development approach has shifted to fewer major releases (to focus on pivotal improvements) with continuous patches for bug fixes and tweaks knowledgebase.jedox.com – meaning customers see a steady stream of small improvements and occasional big leaps in functionality.

Across the Jedox Ecosystem

No major ecosystem updates to share right now, but exciting developments are on the horizon.

What the Press is Saying

Media Highlights (June 2025):

Jedox continues to garner attention in the press for its role in financial transformation. Below are a couple of notable mentions and articles (with links to the original sources):

HostingAdvice.com – “Predictive Analytics and GenAI for Finance Teams”:

HostingAdvice, a tech publication, profiled Jedox in an article discussing how finance teams can harness data using AI (published late 2024).
The piece notes that Jedox empowers organisations to plan the future with confidence by using a combination of technologies like predictive analytics, machine learning, and Gen AI hostingadvice.com.

It highlights that over 2,900 organisations (including brands like McDonald’s and Deutsche Telekom) use Jedox to transform enterprise performance management hostingadvice.com.

In the article, Jedox VP Eren Koont explains that Jedox’s adaptability – e.g. its Excel-like interface and powerful no-code Integrator – is a “big differentiator,” enabling companies to model any scenario and integrate any data source for unified planning hostingadvice.com

The press coverage underscored Jedox’s leadership position, including being named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Financial Planning Software in 2024 hostingadvice.com.

The media sees Jedox as an established player making advanced planning accessible, with AI features that turn what used to be “guessing games” into data-driven forecasts.

FutureCFO – “A Day in the Life: Florian Winterstein from Jedox”:

In a FutureCFO magazine interview, Jedox CEO Florian Winterstein shared insights on how Jedox helps finance leaders. He described how internally at Jedox, he and the CFO use the platform for rolling forecasts and scenario-based planning, treating Jedox as a “digital business partner” in the office of finance futurecfo.net. The article (published in a prior year) gave a personal look at how a CEO leverages his own software for strategic decision-making and emphasises collaborative planning.

Winterstein noted that aligning finance and operations through driver-based models and scenarios adds significant value, and that this approach is the same one Jedox advocates to its customers and partners futurecfo.net. The press takeaway here is that Jedox isn’t just preaching integrated planning – it’s practicing it. The CEO’s perspective resonated with readers interested in leadership and finance transformation, showing how tools like Jedox enable confident, cross-functional planning (and even work-life balance, as Florian mentioned how his hobbies like cycling and photography inspire his professional approach!).
