Platform Tech Update
AI-Powered Planning Assistant:
Jedox’s platform updates are increasingly AI-centric. Users can now tap into JedoxAI (the built-in GenAI assistant) to ask natural-language questions about KPIs and get instant analysis or recommendations jedox.com. In essence, JedoxAI serves as a “digital business partner,” suggesting best-practice analyses and even auto-generating narrative summaries of reports.
This GenAI capability helps finance teams derive insights faster and make data-driven decisions with more confidence.
“Digital Business Twin” & S&OP Integration:
Jedox introduced a digital business twin approach – creating a virtual replica of an organization’s operational and financial model within Jedox jedox.comjedox.com. A new bill-of-material (BOM) calculation feature links operational details (like product components and production steps) directly to financial plans, laying the groundwork for integrated Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
This means supply chain, sales, and finance data can all converge in Jedox, enabling more holistic, scenario-based planning across departments.
Deeper Excel and Office Integration:
Recognizing that finance professionals love Excel, Jedox’s Spring 2025 update enhanced its Excel Add-in. New dynamic array and extended interaction features now bring the familiar “Dynarange” auto-expand functionality into Excel 365 jedox.com. Reports and templates in Excel automatically adapt to added data (e.g. a new product or account), so manual resizing is a thing of the past. Additionally, to simplify narrative reporting, Jedox introduced “access to stored views from Word” – finance teams can embed live Jedox data tables into Microsoft Word documents jedox.com.
As underlying figures update in Jedox, the Word report refreshes in real-time, eliminating copy-paste drudgery and ensuring one version of the truth.
Enhanced Data Entry & Visualization:
Planning is now even more interactive in Jedox. The new write-back capability for Dynatables lets users not only analyze data in dashboard tables but also directly input or adjust numbers within those tables jedox.com. Granular role-based permissions (read/edit rights) maintain control and data integrity during this in-app data entry. On the visualization side, the platform introduced native business charts and theming in its Canvas dashboards jedox.com. Users can insert charts on the fly and apply centralized theme settings (fonts, colors, logos) to ensure all reports match the company’s corporate identity.
Together, these improvements make planning more user-friendly (streamlined data input, fewer manual steps) and outputs more professional-looking and consistent.
Security and Integration:
In line with corporate data protection needs, Jedox has strengthened its integration and AI features with security in mind. End-to-end encryption is now supported for data pipelines in Jedox Integrator ETL, meaning data transferred from source systems can be encrypted and decrypted securely jedox.com. Moreover, when JedoxAI’s GenAI features are used, any AI processing occurs within a dedicated, secure Microsoft Azure environment jedox.com – ensuring that sensitive financial data never leaves controlled infrastructure.
These tech updates ensure that embracing AI and automation in Jedox does not compromise on data privacy, giving IT departments and compliance officers peace of mind.
